Q:    Why TimeRecorder can be installed but cannot be run, or after I install some other software, it show wrong message (Unknown Error) when I run TimeRecorder, why?

A:     Perhaps the Comctl32.ocx file or Comdlg32.ocx file in your PC (C:\Windows\System or System32) is too old. Find the file in the installation directory (for example, C:\Program Files\TimeRecorder\Comctl32.ocx or C:\Program Files\TimeRecorder\Comdlg32.ocx), then replace the old file.

 

Q:    Can the content words (work, etc.) be changed or added?

A:     Yes. In the menu Tools -> Options -> Custom tab to customize your entry.

 

Q:    How to delete this software thouroughly ?

A:     Only after quit this software, you have the right to uninstall thouroughly. So click the Exit button on the toolbar (first from the right) or press Ctrl+Q to quit TimeRecorder. Then click Start->Program->TimeRecorder->Uninstall TimeRecorder, you can also delete it from Control Panel by using Add/Delete Program.

Q:    Why did it bring me to here when I click "Record Table" or "Save to Record Table" ?

A:     MS Access driver (dao350.dll & vb5db.dll) is needed to run this program. If you haven't installed it, you need to install the driver yourself. Please Download the file at http://timerecorder.51.net/download/dao350.zip, unzip the file and run SETUP.EXE in folder Disk1. If Record Table still show no data and Save to Record Table inactive, please click here to download vb5db.dll and run this software patch to install the file VB5DB.DLL on your system. Open the zip file and run the executable file: TimeRecorderSystemPatch1.exe

 

Q:    When I launch the software, it shows the message "Component 'COMDLG32.OCX' or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.". How do I fix this?

A:     To fix this error...

First download COMDLG32.OCX and copy it into the \Windows\System32 directory. Download COMDLG32.OCX from http://timerecorder.51.net/download/comdlg32.ocx

Then, open the run dialog box using "Start | Run..." and enter "Regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\comdlg32.ocx" to register the DLL.

If this does not fix the problem, download and install install-ocx.exe. Download install-ocx.exe from http://timerecorder.51.net/download/install-ocx.exe

 

Q:    It shows the message "Component 'DBGRID32.ocx' or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.". How do I fix this?

A:     Find the file DBGRID32.ocx in the install directory (for example, at C:\Program Files\TimeRecorder) and copy it to the \Windows\System32 directory. Then, open the run dialog box using "Start | Run..." and enter "Regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\DBGRID32.ocx" to register the DLL.

 

Q:    It shows the message "Component 'MSCOMCT2.ocx' or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.". How do I fix this?

A:     Find the file MSCOMCT2.ocx in the install directory (for example, at C:\Program Files\TimeRecorder) and copy it to the \Windows\System32 directory. Then, open the run dialog box using "Start | Run..." and enter "Regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\MSCOMCT2.ocx" to register the DLL.
